Koo Hyeok-chae (구혁채), first vice minister of South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT, met on Monday in Seoul's Gangnam district with Kim Ki-nam (김기남), former president of the Korea Academy of Engineering, and the programme director for the K-Moonshot semiconductor field, among others. They discussed ways to 추진 the K-Moonshot projects in semiconductors and quantum.
The ministry is pushing the K-Moonshot project to solve key national tasks by combining AI with science and technology. It signed cooperation agreements with 161 companies in March.
Participants in the meeting shared the 추진 direction for "ultra-fine and stacked semiconductor technology development", ways to strengthen competitiveness in quantum technology by leveraging semiconductor manufacturing capabilities, and industry-academia-research cooperation to commercialise research results.
Koo said, "In the AI era, semiconductor and quantum technologies are core strategic technologies that determine a country's future competitiveness." He added, "I hope the government and industry will prepare next-generation technologies together and further solidify their cooperative relationship."
