OpenAI will introduce ads on the free and Go versions of ChatGPT. Brad Lightcap (브래드 라이트캡), OpenAI's chief operating officer, said the introduction of ads would be gradual and that the company would strictly protect user trust and privacy.

A TechCrunch report on Feb. 25 said Lightcap told the India AI Summit that well-designed ads can improve user experience. He said OpenAI would be able to assess how effective its approach is after several months. He did not disclose any plan to expand ads to regions outside the United States for now.

As OpenAI strengthens its advertising revenue model, it has set ChatGPT ad pricing at $60 per 1,000 impressions. That is very high compared with the existing digital advertising market. Advertisers must spend at least $200,000, and Target, Williams-Sonoma and Adobe are taking part in early testing.
