Korea Exchange has moved to support youth financial education to strengthen the financial capabilities of specialized vocational high school students preparing to enter society.
Korea Exchange said on July 20 it delivered 70 million won in financial education sponsorship funds to the Youth Financial Education Council at its Busan headquarters.
Korea Exchange has operated related programs since 2012 to help youths who lack access to financial education understand basic financial concepts and grow into responsible financial consumers.
This year it plans to support tailored financial education to boost economic self-reliance for 2,000 specialized vocational high school and high school students in the Busan area.
The education will focus on "KRX Traveling Financial Education," which visits schools, and "KRX On-site Financial Education," under which students visit the exchange.
Korea Exchange Chairman Eun-bo Jeong (정은보) said it was education that helps youths become economically independent actors, adding that the exchange would continue to support youth financial education.
