South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT said on Thursday it will receive work reports over three days from Jan. 12 to 14 from a total of 55 organisations, including the Korea Aerospace Administration, affiliated and public institutions, and related agencies.

Deputy Prime Minister and Science Minister Bae Kyung-hoon will chair the sessions. Through the reports, the ministry will coordinate national science and technology and AI policy directions, including launching efforts to become one of three leading AI powers, shifting the R&D paradigm by using AI, and establishing the mission and role of each institution after the abolition of PBS.

On Jan. 12, government-funded research institutes and public institutions in the science and technology field will give their reports. On the afternoon of Jan. 13, science museums, the Korea Post and public institutions in the postal services field will report. This will be followed on the afternoon of Jan. 14 by the Korea Aerospace Administration and space research institutions, the four science and technology institutes, and affiliated and public institutions in the AI and ICT field.

Under the format, each institution will present its core functions, achievements to date and this year's key tasks, followed by a free discussion chaired by Bae and joined by all participants. All sessions will also be livestreamed on the ministry's YouTube channel and on KTV.
