[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang (황치규)] JobKorea, an AI and data-based HR tech platform operated by Worksphere, said on Sunday it released an analysis of semiconductor-sector job postings for the first half of this year.
The company said the number of entry-level postings in the semiconductor sector in the first half rose 47 percent from the same period a year earlier. Entry-level hiring also accounted for 12.2 percent of all postings, up 2.4 percentage points from the first half of last year and the highest level in the past five years. The company said it analysed that the semiconductor sector, which had narrowed hiring mainly to experienced workers, is starting to open to entry-level applicants as well.
Total postings in the semiconductor sector, including both entry-level and experienced positions, rose about 20 percent from a year earlier, far exceeding the overall increase across all industries of 14 percent.
The analysis said active hiring by major conglomerates such as SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics recently led to an increase in postings across the broader related industry.
A JobKorea official said, "Hiring by major conglomerates that represent the semiconductor industry continued through the first half, leading the recovery in postings across the sector." The official added, "Given the nature of semiconductor roles, entry-level applicants also face extensive verification of job fit and insight, so we will actively support job seekers in strengthening their employment capabilities by planning and discovering content related to recent hiring trends."
