Skyintelligence, a synthetic data-based AI solutions company, said on Thursday it signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Alibaba Cloud and will cooperate on generative AI-based 3D content production.

The companies agreed to jointly build a next-generation automated 3D content production system that combines AI and cloud technology. They plan to use it to spread AI content production models that can be applied to real business environments across the digital content industry.

They will build a content production environment by combining Skyintelligence’s generative AI 3D content technology with Alibaba Cloud’s global cloud infrastructure and GPU computing environment. They aim to raise both production speed and quality in e-commerce and brand marketing, where mass production is required.

The company said Skyintelligence’s generative AI 3D content solution B.THREE is software as a service designed on a standard architecture based on NVIDIA Omniverse. It integrates the entire 3D content production process into a single pipeline, from product scanning to modelling, lighting, animation and real-time rendering, and is designed to replace existing production methods that were repetitive and costly.

Under the agreement, B.THREE will be linked with Alibaba Cloud’s generative AI platforms Tongyi and Wuying cloud rendering technology. Tongyi analyses text- and image-based input information to support automation in the 3D content generation process, while Wuying cloud rendering technology efficiently handles rendering tasks requiring heavy computing workloads in a cloud environment.

The companies plan to use the agreement to advance an AI-based 3D content production environment for e-commerce and brand companies. They also plan to jointly expand dedicated workflows and solutions tailored to the characteristics of each industry.

Skyintelligence CEO Lee Jae-cheol said the agreement is a practical starting point to expand AI-based 3D content production across industry beyond technical cooperation. He said the company would combine a standard architecture based on NVIDIA Omniverse with global cloud infrastructure to present a new content production method that can be used in global markets.
