South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT held a meeting at CES 2026 in Las Vegas under Second Vice Minister Ryu Je-myung with Korean companies that won innovation awards and AI champion awards.
The ministry said on Friday that participants included CES 2026 Innovation Award winners Mobilint, PersonaAI, DeepX and HL Mando, as well as AI champion award-winning AI innovation companies including Stratio Korea and Vacatio.
Commercialisation of technology in the ICT sector and scale-up were the main topics. Participants suggested that linking the ministry's ICT R&D to follow-on support is important. They also stressed the need for linked support policies, saying many companies fail to overcome the so-called death valley despite developing strong technologies and products because of a lack of investment or an inability to secure references.
Ryu said the ministry will build a package support system ranging from R&D and commercialisation support to investment by large policy funds so AI innovation startups with their own technologies and products can grow into global companies.
