NetEase Games and its subsidiary Joker Studio have begun recruiting participants for a closed global alpha test of the new ocean adventure RPG "Sea of Remnants," the company said on Thursday.

Sea of Remnants is Joker Studio's latest title, from the developer of "Identity V". It adopts an ocean fantasy open-world RPG genre and is set for a free release in 2026 on multiple platforms including PC and PlayStation 5.

The game follows a journey in which players become a wooden doll sailor who has lost its memory and sails across vast seas and unknown islands. Users can enjoy a range of content including open-world exploration, fleet development and sea battles with monsters, while interacting with more than 300 companion characters.

Along with the recruitment, NetEase Games also released a new global trailer that includes a Korean-language version. The video contains detailed game content including a pirate life, battles with sea monsters and mini games in the pirate city of "Obtopia".

The "Wanderer Test" is the first closed alpha test for the PC version and will run for a week from Feb. 5 to 12. Users in South Korea can also take part, and can apply by completing a survey on the game's official Discord or on download platforms including X and Steam. A limited number of participants will be selected.
