LG Uplus, SK Telecom and KT said on Monday they jointly launched V Profile, a service that displays a caller-set video on the other party’s mobile phone screen when a call connects.

While the existing V Coloring shows a receiver-set video to the person placing the call, V Profile is a service in which the caller delivers their own video and message to the other party.

Users can set videos on various topics such as travel, pets, sports and music, and can change content to match seasons, anniversaries and events. They can also use content provided in the existing V Coloring app.

Using the in-app "Make with AI" function, users can produce videos based on photos, phrases and concepts. Without separate editing skills, they can set AI-made videos as their V Profile. The three carriers expect customers interested in personal branding, office workers who frequently contact others for work, and small business owners to use it as a new communication tool.

V Profile can be subscribed to and content can be set in the V Coloring app, a joint platform of the three carriers. The monthly fee is 3,300 won, including value-added tax.

To mark the launch, the three carriers will provide 5,000 Naver Pay points to customers who sign up by Aug. 31 and keep the service for at least 1 month. Existing V Coloring users can also participate if they newly sign up for V Profile.

The three carriers said, "This service expands the call connection screen from a simple waiting time into a new communication space to express oneself." They added, "Through the AI-based video production function, users will be able to express their individuality easily and enjoyably."
