[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] Enterprise AI company AgileSoda said on Thursday it completed an automation project for Shinhan Life’s product information management system.

A product information management system is a platform that integrates and manages insurance product structures, attributes and rules. It has been seen as difficult to implement due to complex document structures and frequent product revisions.

AgileSoda carried out the project using its generative document processing solution, ETL with LLM. It built a system that extracts information from complex documents in various formats, such as business method statements and sales rules, and automatically inputs it, using in-house models within a closed network, large language models and agentic workflows. Shinhan Life’s product information management system, which automatically processes insurance and premium payment periods by subscription conditions, has been officially in operation since December.

The company said the technical core of the project was the ability to recognise complex document structures that include tables, extract information, understand meaning and format outputs. AgileSoda developed ETL with LLM technology to refine and process unstructured documents using its in-house model and LLM. It also combined it with a separate agentic search-augmented generation solution, ChatSAM, to improve search accuracy.

In the Shinhan Life project, the technology was used to build an AI agent that processes key basic insurance documents such as business method statements. The company said it significantly reduced the workload of repeatedly reviewing large volumes of documents in an environment where products change frequently.

AgileSoda CEO Choi Dae-woo said, "Automating a product information management system that extracts information from complex documents and automatically inputs it has been a task many insurers have grappled with for a long time." He added, "This successful case will serve as an opportunity to promote the adoption of AI for automating basic insurance documents at other insurers and accelerate AI transformation across insurance operations."
