SM Group, which announced it would adopt Google Workspace across the company with the aim of an AI transition in April, has additionally introduced portal specialist KnowledgeCube’s KCUBE ON for Google Workspace to upgrade its groupwide integrated work environment.
KnowledgeCube said on Thursday the adoption will allow SM Group to unify organization and account management that had been dispersed across affiliates. It will also move to build an AI-based work platform that combines the Google collaboration environment with Korean-style organizational structure and work processes.
SM Group applied the KCUBE ON account management service UAP (User Account Provisioning) and the organization-chart-based collaboration support app ORG (Organization) to 38 of its 54 affiliates where Google Workspace is being introduced.
To improve employee productivity, it also introduced the schedule management app G-Task, which is linked to the integrated work portal, Google Docs and Google Chat.
On the back of the SM Group adoption, KnowledgeCube plans to expand its technology integration roadmap between KCUBE ON and Google Cloud’s generative AI platform Gemini Enterprise. It plans to apply generative AI-based functions in stages, including document summaries, internal data search, work schedule recommendations and repetitive task automation, to support building customized AI work environments for companies.
Sung-han Ryu (류성한), a director overseeing KnowledgeCube’s cloud business, said SM Group’s case was meaningful as it pursues group-level work systems and AI-based productivity innovation together. He said the company would continue to advance integration with Gemini Enterprise to provide an environment in which employees can reduce repetitive work and focus on higher value-added tasks.
