KT said on Wednesday it will launch its exclusive smartphone, the Galaxy Jump5, on July 3 at nationwide stores and its official online mall KT.com.

The Galaxy Jump5 is the fifth product in KT’s Galaxy Jump series of exclusive devices. Based on Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy A27 5G, KT is introducing it exclusively in South Korea. Unlike previous Jump models that were based on the Galaxy M series, the new device is built on the A series.

It comes in three colours — black, light green and light pink — and is priced at 545,600 won.

The Galaxy Jump5 includes "Awesome Intelligence", an AI feature for the Galaxy A series. It supports Circle to Search, which searches by drawing a circle on the screen, an eraser that removes unwanted elements in photos, and functions that convert and translate voice and call recordings into text. The device features a 6.7-inch display with a punch-hole design and a 50-megapixel camera.

To mark the launch, KT will give the first 10,000 buyers a three-month subscription to Millie’s Library and a character-collaboration auxiliary battery package. Gift availability may differ by dealership. Customers who activate the phone on KT.com will receive a 50,000-won mobile coupon and a 7 percent discount on monthly flat-rate charges for 24 months.

KT will give the first 500 pre-order buyers Galaxy Buds3 FE. All KT.com pre-order customers will receive up to 50,000 won in Kakao Pay points depending on their plan. Pre-orders on KT.com run until 8:59 a.m. on July 3.

KT also provides "365 Phone Care", which includes compensation for device damage and phishing and hacking losses, as well as phone replacement and repair services. The basic monthly fee is 5,900 won. Customers on special or higher plans can use it for 3,800 won a month with a membership discount. Customers who sign up by Aug. 31 will also receive travel insurance for free.

Son Jung-yup (손정엽), executive director and head of KT’s Device Business Division, said, "Galaxy Jump5 is a product that offers Galaxy AI, a large screen and a high-resolution camera at a reasonable price." He added, "It will be a suitable option for practical-demand groups such as students and seniors."
