[DigitalToday reporter Daegeon Seok] ASIC design solutions company Azicland said on Thursday it signed a mass production contract in the storage controller segment worth $17,561,000, or about 25.4 billion won. The contract pre-confirms annual supply volumes, with deliveries to proceed sequentially through Dec. 31.

Storage controllers are system semiconductors used in electronic, IoT and embedded devices, including mobile, home appliances, mobility and robotics. Azicland is the only domestic design house that is a TSMC VCA (Value Chain Alliance) partner. It will also carry out mass production for this project based on TSMC processes.

The company will provide integrated support across the full production cycle, from design optimization to process response and yield management. It explained that its partnership with TSMC became the basis for building a stable mass production system.

A company official said the contract reconfirmed Azicland's mass production response capabilities and supply reliability from the customer. The official said recurring mass production sales are expected in the future because annual volumes have been fixed for a widely applicable system semiconductor.

Azicland has recently been securing mass production projects in industrial and consumer semiconductor segments. The company is gradually expanding the share of revenue based on mass production.

Lee Jong-min, Azicland's chief executive officer, said it will continue to build a foundation for sustainable growth based on close partnerships with customers across system semiconductors.
