Witts, a power transmission solutions specialist, said on Jan. 8 it has hired former Samsung Electronics vice president Lee Woo-seob as its president to strengthen business competitiveness and secure a foundation for mid- to long-term growth.
Lee began his career in 1990 at Samsung Electronics' VD procurement team and worked at the company for about 35 years, rising to head of the procurement team at the MX Business Division. He gained experience across procurement, partner management, cost innovation and supply chain operations. During his time at Samsung Electronics, Lee led efforts to stabilise the global supply chain and strengthen partners' competitiveness, and drove the creation of a model for mutually beneficial cooperation.
A Witts official said the appointment was a strategic choice for the company to take its next step, rather than a routine personnel move. The official said Witts would work to raise corporate value and shareholder value at the same time by improving its core businesses and pursuing a stable growth strategy.
