LG Uplus is running a promotion through July 7 offering customers who pay subscription fees for generative AI services on the Google Play Store using mobile billing a bill discount of up to 45 percent.
The promotion covers 4 major generative AI services, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Grok. Users can select “LG U+ Payment” on the Google Play Store to pay the monthly subscription fee during the period and apply on the event page to receive a bill discount of up to 45 percent of the payment amount. The discount cap is 5,000 won.
Payment methods and screen layouts may differ by AI service. Because the payment amount is consolidated on the telecom bill under “content usage fees,” customers can check usage details for multiple subscription services at once.
LG Uplus currently supports mobile billing across various content platforms including the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, Netflix, PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Xbox Game Store and Spotify.
“As the use of AI services spreads across everyday life, subscription costs and payment convenience are emerging as important factors,” Ahn Byeong-gyeong (안병경), executive director in charge of AI business at LG Uplus, said. “We plan to continue expanding payment environments that customers can use easily and tangible cost-saving benefits.”
