KB Kookmin Bank will expand psychological counselling support for financially vulnerable groups facing difficulties due to debt problems.
KB Kookmin Bank said on Thursday it will contribute an additional 300 million won to expand the "Mind Care Counselling Service" for vulnerable debtors it operates with the Credit Counseling & Recovery Service.
The new contribution increases total funding for the Mind Care Counselling Service supported by KB Kookmin Bank to 800 million won. The additional funds will be used to provide professional psychological counselling to customers struggling with debt problems.
The Mind Care Counselling Service is a programme that provides professional psychological counselling to customers using debt restructuring through the Credit Counseling & Recovery Service. In cooperation with the Korea EAP Association, it uses 943 counselling centres nationwide, and a total of 4,738 counselling sessions were conducted from December last year to May this year.
A KB Kookmin Bank official said, "Through this additional contribution, we hope more customers will use the counselling service and ease the emotional burden caused by debt problems."
