Hancom Lifecare, a Hancom Group affiliate specialising in firefighting, defence and safety equipment, said on Thursday it recently supplied its latest air breathing apparatus to the Mongolian market. It is also exploring additional exports of personal firefighting safety equipment and military gas masks to Asian countries and the Middle East.

The air breathing apparatus supplied to Mongolia is personal safety equipment that protects workers' breathing in toxic-gas environments such as fires and disasters.

Hancom Lifecare said it will use its track record of gas mask exports to Central Asia, where it has stable production and sales, as a foothold to expand its influence in Asia and the Middle East. It said it will focus on follow-on contracts and aims to expand overseas orders to 30 billion won.

Chief Executive Kim Sun-young (김선영) said, "As disasters and security threats grow worldwide, demand for proven safety and defence equipment is structurally increasing." She added, "With active discussions under way with government agencies and buyers in several countries including the Middle East, we will turn this into visible order results and leap into a core company in the global safety and defence market."
