NCSoft co-CEOs Kim Taek-jin and Park Byung-moo set “growth” and “innovation” as management themes for 2026.
On Jan. 7, NCSoft said the two CEOs declared in a New Year address that they would make this year one that strengthens NCSoft’s competitiveness and raises corporate value.
The two CEOs first cited the performance of “Aion2”, released in November, and said it confirmed the possibility of change. They said continuous service stabilisation and sincere communication restored user trust and proved the continued competitiveness of NCSoft’s core intellectual property (IP).
From this year, they will focus on growth and innovation to keep that momentum going. As concrete strategies for growth, they cited expanding legacy IP and completing new core IP. They plan to broaden regions and platforms and link assets to future growth through spinoff games or external collaboration. They also said they plan to introduce new IP with a level of completeness that reflects NCSoft.
The company will also continue to take on new genres. In the shooting and subculture genres, it will build competitiveness through collaboration with external studios and continue publishing investment. They also presented a blueprint to develop the mobile casual business division into a new growth engine, including securing talent, strengthening data analysis capabilities and pursuing additional M&A.
For innovation, they called for “zero-base” thinking that reconsiders everything from square one. They stressed that they would fundamentally review working methods and processes to drive change and lay the groundwork for healthy generational turnover to prepare for the future.
The two CEOs said, “From this year, growth and innovation are essential for NCSoft to develop in earnest,” adding, “Management will also fulfil its responsibility by presenting clear direction and minimising uncertainty.”
