KoAsia Semi signed a mass-production contract with Tenstorrent for AI chiplets. KoAsia Semi said on Jan. 7 it had signed an agreement with Tenstorrent to move next-generation AI chiplets into mass production.
The contract follows a chiplet development deal for Tenstorrent’s AI processor signed in late 2024. It shifts the project to the mass-production stage after the design was completed. KoAsia Semi signed a supply contract for AI products with Rebellions in July last year. The Tenstorrent deal is its second mass-production supply contract for AI chiplets.
KoAsia Semi will carry out chiplet architecture design and verification. It will link the process through to mass-production supply after manufacturing at a foundry. It will handle key technologies across chiplet development, including individual SoC chip design and chiplet package design. The company is Arm’s Approved Design Partner for system-on-chip design and a design solutions partner in Samsung Electronics’ foundry SAFE program.
KoAsia Semi expects revenue of more than 14 billion won from the mass-production contract. It said tasks in the development stage were more likely to shift to silicon manufacturing and mass production. The company expects its mid- to long-term revenue growth trend to expand. KoAsia Semi is the semiconductor business unit company of KoAsia Group and a subsidiary of listed company KoAsia.
Tenstorrent CEO Jim Keller said, "KoAsia Semi is a highly reliable partner for Tenstorrent’s chiplet SoC implementation, and we will continue to expand our cooperation." He added, "Following this contract, we plan to begin development of follow-on products soon."
KoAsia Semi CEO Shin Dong-su said, "This contract is an example that proves the completeness of KoAsia’s chip design and chiplet package development." He added, "Based on this, we will lead the global AI ASIC market."
