AX specialist LG CNS said on Tuesday it signed contracts for the Armed Forces Command, Control and Communications Command’s Similar Communications Network Integration project and the Defense Information Systems Agency’s next-generation defence facilities integrated information system project.

The Similar Communications Network Integration project aims to integrate networks that are separately operated by the Army, Navy and Air Force, as well as the Joint Chiefs of Staff, into a single network. LG CNS will carry out the project over 15 months as it moves in earnest into digital innovation in the defence sector.

The Defense Information Systems Agency’s next-generation defence facilities integrated information system project will comprehensively overhaul the currently operating system with a new system and infrastructure. It aims to improve user convenience, maximise work efficiency and standardise data. The project targets integrated innovation across lifecycle tasks for defence facilities, including planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance.

Bae Min, executive vice president and head of LG CNS’ finance and public sector business division, said, "We will bring together LG CNS' defence IT capabilities to successfully complete both projects and lead digital innovation in the defence sector."
