NCSoft has completed an offline showcase for its massively multiplayer online role-playing game, Aion 2, and unveiled a cut in membership prices and a roadmap for major updates.

NCSoft said on June 15 it held the Aion 2 showcase event, "Aion 2 Summer Festa," on June 14 at a hotel in Gangseo-gu, Seoul.

The event invited 150 users, introduced content planned for upcoming updates and unveiled a collaboration with idol group fromis_9. Following a special performance by fromis_9, the development team presented the update roadmap and communicated closely with users.

Aion 2 will run the fromis_9 collaboration from June 17. It will release fromis_9-themed outfits, weapons, pets and wings. Players can transform into fromis_9's faces by wearing all parts of an appearance set. It also added an emote that dances to fromis_9's track "LIKE YOU BETTER," along with a feature allowing nearby users to join in.

On July 1, it will roll out a major update, "Chapter 1. Land of Sand and Frost." It is preparing new content including the "Kwonseong" class, new territories "Eltnen" and "Morheim," dungeons such as Expedition, Transcendence and Sanctuary, "Chaotic Ereshuranta Surface Layer," Spacetime Rift: Struggle for Control, Battlefield: Occupation Battle and Outland.

New territories Eltnen and Morheim will be added to the Elyos and Asmodians regions, respectively, and 20 sealed dungeons by region and 6 outposts will newly appear.

Dungeon content will also be significantly expanded. It will release new expeditions, "Castle of the Fallen Daeva" and "Overrun Deus Research Base," and introduce an "Expedition: Trial" mode in which players can set difficulty themselves. It will also update the Transcendence dungeons "Noiran's Hidden Legacy" and "Abyssal Horn Cave," and the Sanctuary dungeon "Snowfield of Sorrow."

It will also apply various changes reflecting user feedback. NCSoft will consolidate Aion 2's membership into 1 type and cut the price. Special-grade outfits and pets will be changed to be shareable at the server level. It will add an "auto loot" function that can be activated for all pets, which is expected to provide a more comfortable play experience.

It will build a growth support system for new users and create "Daeva Express," which completes outposts, sealed dungeons and traces of the main god at once. It will also introduce a "sprout badge" that returns "Od energy" when players enjoy dungeon content with new, returning users.

NCSoft will provide special rewards to mark the event. All users can receive "Pet: 2" via in-game mail, and can also obtain various rewards by entering a coupon code, including Od energy, a resurrection spirit stone and an instant completion ticket: daily dungeon (engraved).
