An integrated service will be operated that allows researchers to use national research and development (R&D) sites with a single login.
The Ministry of Science and ICT will operate Yeongu24 from the 15th, an integrated login site that allows users to check and access 10 major R&D activity support systems run by six agencies in one place. The launch is part of improving researcher-centered research support systems under the government task titled “Measures to innovate the R&D ecosystem to lead the future through science and technology.”
Until now, researchers faced inconvenience because they had to visit national R&D sites frequently used during R&D processes and enter separate IDs and passwords. Going forward, logging into Yeongu24 once will allow access to previously used national R&D sites without additional authentication.
Yeongu24 is operated based on SSO (Single Sign-On), an integrated login technology. SSO is a technology that allows use of multiple linked sites without separate authentication after a single login. Because it links visitors with membership information for each site, however, membership registration for each existing national R&D site is still required.
The ministry has also diversified Yeongu24 login methods. Users can access it using simple authentication, a joint certificate, a financial certificate, a mobile ID, and private IDs such as Naver, Kakao and Payco. Using the government integrated authentication service operated by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety allows use without separate membership registration.
Users can visit Yeongu24, log in using their preferred method, check the list of 10 national R&D sites and select the site they want to use. The selected site opens in a new tab and can be used without a separate login.
Park In-gyu (박인규), head of the Science and Technology Innovation Office at the Ministry of Science and ICT, said he expects Yeongu24 to improve researchers’ access to national R&D information. He said the ministry will continue to promote strengthening links of project information with R&D institutions and integrating research support systems.
