[Digital Today reporter Jinju Hong (홍진주)] Some software features applied to Samsung Electronics' flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra could also be useful to users of the mid-range Galaxy A57, an assessment said. It suggested keeping hardware differentiation but opening more convenience-related features so more users can take advantage of them.

On June 11, local time, IT outlet TechRadar introduced features it said would be good to have on the Galaxy A57, based on its experience using both the Galaxy A57 and the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Given the price gap between the two devices, the outlet said hardware differentiation such as camera performance, chipsets and the S Pen is understandable. It added that some software features could provide practical help to mid-range model users as well.

The first feature mentioned was Audio Eraser. It helps make voices clearer by reducing wind, crowd cheers and surrounding noise in videos. TechRadar said the feature is useful during video editing and that even an adjusted version provided on the A57 could raise user satisfaction.

Another feature is the Galaxy S26 Ultra's integrated search function, Finder. It supports searching content across the device, including apps as well as stored documents and photos, email attachments and more. The outlet said the importance of integrated search is growing as more information is stored on smartphones, and said it hopes such features are expanded to a broader lineup.

Bixby's settings support function was also mentioned. On the Galaxy S26 Ultra, users can use voice to request adjustments such as screen brightness control or enabling an eye protection mode. TechRadar said this could be helpful especially for users unfamiliar with smartphone settings or for older users, and said it could be valuable for mid-range product lines as well.

Samsung's AI-based information summary function, Now Brief, was also included. Now Brief compiles and shows weather, schedules, news and health information at once. The outlet said, "It is a feature that still has room to develop, but we hope it will be applied to the A series in terms of providing the AI experience to more users."

The assessment was less a criticism of a differentiation strategy between flagship and mid-range models than an example of examining whether some software experiences that received good reviews on the Galaxy S26 Ultra could be expanded to more Galaxy users in the future.

The industry has been paying closer attention to which functions manufacturers keep exclusive to premium products and which functions they extend to mass-market lineups, as smartphone competition shifts from hardware-centric to AI- and software-experience-centric.

Samsung Electronics has steadily expanded some AI functions through One UI updates, and attention is focused on whether the Galaxy A series will add more features introduced on flagships in the future.
