[Digital Today reporter Ho-jung Lee] Wemade will release a new title within the year using the intellectual property of hit game 'Night Crows', which has generated cumulative global revenue of 750 billion won.

Wemade said on Thursday it signed a publishing agreement with Madngin for a new title based on the Night Crows IP and has begun full-scale preparations for launch. The two companies are working closely with a goal of a global one-build release within the year.

The new title is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game, or MMORPG, that can be played on both PC and mobile. Wemade’s strategy is to release a further upgraded new title based on the competitiveness of the original, which has already been proven in global markets, and to replicate the success of the Night Crows IP.

The original Night Crows has recorded cumulative domestic and overseas revenue of 750 billion won and 14 million cumulative users since its release in 2023. It entered the top 3 in game revenue rankings on app markets in major Asian markets including South Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines, and posted major hit records such as surpassing 450,000 peak concurrent users globally.

Wemade sees Night Crows’ strong IP power as a distinct differentiator among multiple new MMORPG titles set to be released this year. It plans to focus its capabilities on sustaining market expectations based on the gameplay of the original, which has been recognized by global users.

Wemade plans to sequentially disclose detailed game information, including the new title’s official service name.

Separately, Wemade is also pursuing a China launch of the original Night Crows within the year in parallel as it seeks to expand in global markets.
