[Digital Today reporter Hojeong Lee] Krafton is moving in earnest to prepare globally for its new title Project Zeta, set for release in the second half of the year.
Krafton said on Thursday that Project Zeta, which it is publishing, will hold its first global community test from June 25 to June 28.
The test is open worldwide, including North America, Europe and South Korea. Players who want to take part can apply for a playtest on Project Zeta’s Steam store page, and those who complete the application will be able to access the game automatically when the test begins. A new video announcing the test was also released on the official YouTube channel.
Project Zeta is an online multiplayer game in the multi-team tactical arena genre being developed by Nirvanana Studio. Teams of 3 compete, with a total of 4 teams battling simultaneously on a single battlefield. The team that returns the "Prism" object to a designated point first wins. Its core identity is a multi-team structure in which multiple teams clash at the same time on one map, moving away from a conventional symmetrical match-up structure.
Combat uses a third-person action system that draws on each hero’s unique skills. It combines player-versus-environment (PvE) growth and player-versus-player (PvP) combat within a single battlefield. A total of 14 hero types across 4 classes will be provided, and play using controllers is supported. Cross-play between PC and consoles is also planned.
Project Zeta adopted an open development approach from the early stage of development, building the game together with users. Krafton and Nirvanana Studio plan to use the test to collect play data and feedback from users in various regions and reflect it in future development.
Namseok Kim (김남석), head of Nirvanana Studio, said, "Following South Korea and China, we can now meet users in North America and Europe directly, so expectations are high." He added, "Based on feedback from users in more regions, we will complete Project Zeta together."
Project Zeta is being developed with the goal of launching as a global early access release in the second half of this year.
