Woowahan Cheongnyeondeul, which handles Delivery Minjok's logistics services, will distribute water on a large scale to help prevent heat-related illness among delivery riders and support safe riding during the coming heatwave season.
Woowahan Cheongnyeondeul said on June 12 it will distribute 700,000 bottles of water free of charge at Baemin B Mart stores nationwide from June 15 to Sept. 20.
The support is part of Woowahan Cheongnyeondeul's "2026 comprehensive heatwave response plan for riders" to be carried out this summer. It is a follow-up measure to an agreement signed in May with the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and the National Police Agency to create a safe and healthy workplace for delivery platform workers.
Woowahan Cheongnyeondeul distributed 450,000 bottles of water to Baemin riders nationwide during last year's heatwave season. With heatwaves forecast to arrive earlier and be stronger than usual this year, it brought the distribution schedule forward by a month and sharply increased the volume to 700,000 bottles. Unlike last year's pilot operation, it also upgraded the operating system this year by distributing throughout the period at Baemin B Mart branches nationwide.
Any rider who visits a Baemin B Mart during the period can receive free water on site. Pickup zones will also be equipped with cooling fans and air circulators to improve the environment so riders can rest comfortably. Schedules and instructions on how to use the program will be provided through notices on the Baemin Connect application and the official YouTube channel.
A Woowahan Cheongnyeondeul official said, "So that riders can deliver safely without being worn out by the summer heat, this year we increased both the timing of water support and the scale of distribution compared with past years." The official added, "As we are providing a range of heatwave support including water distribution, we will continue to expand support so that riders on the ground can feel a real difference."
