Nexon’s long-running casual game “Crazy Arcade,” released in 2001, will end service on Aug. 13.
Nexon announced the decision in an official notice on Wednesday.
Crazy Arcade is a 2D online casual game that Nexon began operating in 2001. It is a multiplayer title in which players attack opponents with water balloons, and it is also known as “BnB.” It drew broad popularity from its early days and became known among users as “Cra,” establishing itself as one of Nexon’s flagship long-running IPs.
Following the shutdown decision, Nexon on Wednesday fully suspended sales of paid products in the in-game shop after maintenance. Characters, couple rings, cosmetic items, Luzzi boxes and item bags purchasable with Nexon Cash can no longer be bought. Items sold for Luzzi, the in-game currency, can be purchased until service ends.
Ongoing events and premium PC cafe benefits also ended after Wednesday’s maintenance. Nexon will also run a “Goodbye Cra! Thank You Event” from Wednesday until the service ends. During the event, experience points and Luzzi earned increase tenfold at all times, and completing limited missions will grant reward items including basic, luxury and super characters.
Refund requests will be accepted through a separate page from Wednesday to 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 16. Eligible items include all products bought with paid Nexon Cash from 9 a.m. on March 11 to 9 a.m. on June 11 regardless of use; products purchased from June 11 last year to 8:59 a.m. on March 11 this year that were not claimed from temporary storage; and time-limited, consumable and capsule-type items bought in the same period that were claimed but not used. Unused time-limited and consumable items will be refunded on a pro-rata basis depending on remaining quantity and remaining days.
Products purchased only with CP or free Nexon Cash are excluded from refunds. Refund amounts are to be paid out sequentially in Nexon Cash from October after a separate review.
Access to the game and use of the official website will be blocked from 9 a.m. on Aug. 13, and all posts are also to be deleted. Users must separately save any information they need before the service ends.
