Samsung SDS is strengthening its AI-based cloud security business by working with U.S. AI security startup XBOW and South Korean cloud security company Tatum Security.
Samsung SDS will work with XBOW to expand AI-based vulnerability detection capabilities for corporate customers' web-based IT assets.
XBOW, founded in 2024, drew attention in June 2025 on bug bounty platform HackerOne for detecting vulnerabilities faster and more accurately than human hackers, a year after its establishment.
Samsung SDS will use XBOW's AI technology in penetration testing to find vulnerabilities in corporate customers' web services and information assets. It will then carry out remediation and follow-up measures based on the findings.
Samsung SDS will work with Tatum Security to strengthen an integrated security monitoring system suited to multicloud environments. Founded in 2020, Tatum Security provides a cloud security solution that integrates management and visualization of major public and private cloud service providers, including AWS, Azure and GCP, through a single console.
Samsung SDS plans to use Tatum Security's technology to provide integrated security monitoring and visibility for corporate customers using various cloud environments. Samsung SDS plans to expand the scope of cooperation with Tatum Security into cloud access and privilege management services and joint development.
Samsung SDS will also strengthen its response capabilities before and after security incidents as a managed security service provider (MSSP).
When a corporate customer suffers a security incident, it plans to provide an Incident Response service that prevents additional losses and shortens recovery time through rapid analysis and action. It will also support cause analysis and the establishment of measures to prevent recurrence to help maintain business continuity and improve cyber resilience.
Yong-min Jang (장용민), head of Samsung SDS' security business team, said, "Through balanced cooperation with advanced security startups at home and abroad, we have built a more complete response system across all areas of cloud security, from proactive prevention to constant monitoring and post-incident recovery." He added, "By combining global leading technology, customized domestic solutions and Samsung SDS' operational know-how, we will proactively respond to new threats that are rapidly increasing as AI adoption spreads within companies."
