Netflix said on Tuesday it will introduce its vertical video feed, Clips, in South Korea and Japan in July.

Clips is a mobile feed that lets users explore series, films, live content, WWE and podcasts in an interactive format. Netflix redesigned its app after reflecting feedback that members want an experience suited to how they use their phones and want to use Netflix during short breaks. On the home screen, it introduced a new top navigation bar to separate content by entertainment type.

Clips is personalised based on each member's viewing history and reactions, and users can add content they like to "My List" or share it with friends. Netflix also plans to roll out themed Clips collections tailored to mood or genre. The feature is currently available in Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, India and Malaysia, and Netflix plans to expand it to additional countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

Kim Ho (킴 호), a Netflix product designer, said the goal is to use video as the best storyteller to provide the information and details needed to make choices and to make content selection more fun and easier.

Netflix will also revamp how it recommends content. It will provide curation collection rows and pages that reflect members' tastes and cultural context, and will sequentially introduce collections that reflect regional events or interest-based themes.

In games, Netflix will add 6 minigames, including a "K-pop Demon Hunters" theme, to its kids-only app, Netflix Playground, on June 20. Netflix Playground is a standalone app for children aged 8 and under that was launched in April, and paid members can use it without additional payment.

Elizabeth Stone (엘리자베스 스톤), Netflix's chief product and technology officer, said the company is using technology to make entertainment experiences more personalised, immersive and interactive.
