KSTEC, an artificial intelligence (AI) and business automation company, said on Tuesday it launched a "smart IDP (Intelligent Document Processing) solution" to shorten and automate corporate document processing work.
According to the company, the newly introduced KSTEC smart IDP goes beyond existing RPA and OCR (optical character recognition) technologies by combining the latest natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML) algorithms to support automation by understanding document context.
The company explained that it can identify, classify and extract key data on its own from various types of "unstructured documents" such as invoices, receipts, contracts and purchase orders that previously had to be checked and entered manually, reducing manual workload and improving efficiency.
It added that it secured high data extraction accuracy even for low-resolution scans or hard-to-read handwritten documents through preprocessing such as document classification, image enhancing and object detection, along with linking to an LLM model.
KSTEC technology director Jeong-ho Kim (김정호) said, "The smart IDP solution, combined with KSTEC's RPA (robotic process automation) and APA (autonomous process automation) technological capabilities, will serve as a foundation for innovating corporate automation workflows." He added, "We will focus on targeting industries where large-scale document processing is essential, such as finance, manufacturing, bio and pharmaceuticals, and the public sector."
