[DigitalToday reporter Ji-young Lee] SentBe is joining hands with GCash, a leading finance app in the Philippines, to upgrade remittance services from South Korea to the Philippines.

SentBe said on Tuesday it has signed a partnership with GCash to strengthen the stability and efficiency of personal remittances from South Korea to the Philippines.

The partnership was 추진됐다 to upgrade the GCash wallet receipt service in the Philippines that SentBe has provided through its consumer overseas remittance service.

Funds sent by SentBe users will be delivered to recipients’ GCash wallets in the Philippines. Recipients can use the money for everyday financial activities such as living expenses, paying utility bills and buying daily necessities.

GCash is a leading financial super app in the Philippines with more than 90 million users. Users can access a range of services through the GCash app, including prepaid mobile top-ups, bill payments, sending and receiving money, merchant payments, savings, loans, insurance and investments. The GCash mobile wallet is operated by G-Xchange, a wholly owned unit of Philippine unicorn company Mynt.

SentBe CEO Sung-wook Choi (최성욱) said, "As the number of Filipino nationals staying in South Korea rises, the stability of remittances from South Korea to the Philippines and the convenience of receiving funds are becoming more important." He added, "We will expand stable cross-border financial services tailored to each country’s remittance environment."

Arjun Varma (아르준 바르마), general manager of GCash International, said, "Through our partnership with SentBe, we can provide Filipinos in South Korea with a more stable and convenient remittance experience." He added, "Through direct integration of the two platforms, we will make the cross-border remittance process smoother."
