SK Group has changed its management discussion structure to speed up its response to its AI transition. The group will hold the '2026 New Icheon Forum' from June 11 to 13 at the SKMS Research Institute in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, under the theme of 'Disruptive innovation AI will bring, a major shift to AX-led management,' it said on Tuesday. About 50 executives, including SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won (최태원), Senior Vice Chairman Chey Jae-won (최재원), Supex Council Chairman Chey Chang-won (최창원) and CEOs of key affiliates, will attend.

The 'New Icheon Forum' combines for the first time this year the 'Management Strategy Meeting,' where executives reviewed group strategy each June, and the 'Icheon Forum,' which was held in August with employees and outside experts. The integration reflects a view that the previous discussion structure makes it difficult to respond flexibly as the cycle of change in AI technology becomes extremely short. The group plans to have executives and employees discuss issues together, quickly reflect the results across management and strengthen execution.

The forum will run for 3 days. On the first day, executives will share AX goals and roadmaps for AI transition at key affiliates and hold a CEO panel discussion focused on ways to implement AI innovation. Employee-led discussions will follow on June 12. Participants will share changes in the AI era they experience on the ground and discuss ways to overcome difficulties in the AX process and to upgrade the organisational operating system.

On the final day, June 13, executives will share company-by-company AX measures and wrap up with a schedule to reaffirm the group's commitment to acceleration. An SK official said this year's New Icheon Forum will broadly discuss AX measures to proactively lead the AI era. The official added the group will step up the major shift to AX-led management based on shared understanding with employees.
