The size of an administrative fine over a large-scale personal data leak at Coupang last November is expected to be decided on June 10.
The Personal Information Protection Commission will put a sanctions proposal related to Coupang on the agenda for its full meeting on June 10.
The commission plans to hold a separate briefing on the morning of June 11 if the agenda is approved.
Earlier, the Ministry of Science and ICT announced in February the findings of a joint public-private investigation team into Coupang's security incident and said the scale of the personal data leak was confirmed to be more than 30 million cases.
The investigation found the attacker leaked 33,673,817 cases of names and emails from April 14 last year to Nov. 8 through the My Info edit page. The delivery address list page was viewed 148,056,502 times and included names, phone numbers, addresses and apartment building entrance passwords that were de-identified with special characters.
