Snowflake, an AI data cloud company, said on Tuesday it will provide Google Cloud’s large language model Gemini 3 by default in Snowflake Cortex AI.
Snowflake customers can develop, deploy and scale generative AI applications, including Gemini data agents, in Snowflake’s governance-based data environment without moving or duplicating data across platforms, the company said.
With the expanded partnership, the companies will strengthen their go-to-market strategy to support joint customer engagement, co-selling and transactions on Google Cloud Marketplace. They will also accelerate global market expansion. After recently launching Google Cloud-based Snowflake in Saudi Arabia, the companies plan to launch in Melbourne, Australia, in 2026 and continue their collaboration.
Christian Kleinerman, Snowflake’s executive vice president of product, said, “We are pleased to expand our collaboration with Google Cloud, which is at the forefront of generative AI innovation.” He added, “By combining Google Cloud’s AI capabilities with Snowflake’s enterprise data approach, customers will be able to drive innovation using data and AI.”
