Woowa Brothers, operator of Baedal Minjok, is moving to strengthen AI marketing capabilities for local restaurant owners. Woowa Brothers will run an AI marketing training course for restaurant owners jointly with Seoul's Seocho-gu, it said on Sunday. It will accept applications until June 22. The course will be held for 5 sessions, every Monday from June 29 to July 27.
The programme is part of a business cooperation agreement Seocho-gu and Baemin Academy signed last year. The two organisations held 2 joint training programmes after the agreement. They recorded an 87 percent completion rate and a satisfaction score of 9.8 out of 10. Some participating stores saw orders rise by up to 86 percent after the training. In an in-house survey of graduates, the average number of orders was tallied to have increased by 19.5 percent before and after the training.
The latest course was designed to reflect demand from restaurant owners seeking to apply AI to store operations. The curriculum includes lectures by academic experts in AI, along with owners of stores listed on the Baemin app. It covers everything from producing menu images using AI to building websites using a vibe coding approach and industry trends in how AI shifts affect the restaurant business. Enrollment is limited to 30 people, with classes alternating between the Baemin Academy Seoul Center and a Seocho-gu district office training venue.
Baemin Academy plans to expand joint training programmes with various local governments after Seocho-gu. Seocho-gu district chief Sung-soo Jeon (전성수) said, "This training programme was designed to be substantial and diverse, from hands-on training using the latest AI programmes to mentoring that shares success know-how and special lectures by expert speakers, so that restaurant owners can build the marketing capabilities needed in the AI era." He added, "Seocho-gu will continue to make constant efforts to provide practical support that adds vitality to local commercial districts."
Yong-gyu Kwon (권용규), head of the Baemin Academy Office at Woowa Brothers, said, "As strategies for using AI have emerged as an important topic in the restaurant industry, many restaurant owners are considering it as a way to boost their stores' competitiveness." He added, "Baemin Academy will continue to discover and work together on curricula that can provide practical help, and will become a reliable partner for restaurant owners."
