[DigitalToday reporter Jinju Hong] Global IT YouTuber Marques Brownlee (마르케스 브라운리·MKBHD) has unveiled 10 products he wants Apple to release, and an analysis says many of them align with Apple’s actual development roadmap. The list is seen as offering a glimpse of the direction of Apple’s next-generation ecosystem, from a foldable iPhone and smart glasses to a home hub with a screen.

NineToFiveMac reported on Wednesday that Brownlee, in a recently released video, introduced a list of products "that Apple hasn’t made yet but I want it to launch."

The products he named include an in-car dashcam, a fitness band without a display, smart glasses, a smart doorbell and security camera, a home hub with a screen, a significantly improved Siri, a MacBook with cellular support, a foldable iPhone and a printer.

Brownlee said Apple is a company that says "No" far more often than "Yes" to new product ideas, but added that if things went the way he hoped, Apple would have a much more diverse product lineup than it does now.

An interesting point is that the list does not stop at a fan’s wish list. NineToFiveMac analysed that many of the products Brownlee mentioned are already connected to Apple’s internal development plans. The foldable iPhone in particular has been the subject of development rumours for several years, and some in the industry also speculate Apple’s first foldable product could be unveiled as early as September this year.

The home hub is also seen as a candidate with a high likelihood of becoming reality. Apple currently runs its smart home ecosystem centred on the HomePod and Apple TV, but the industry has consistently raised the outlook that a new home hub device with a display is under development.

Smart glasses are also known as one of Apple’s long-term next-generation wearable projects. Some analyses also say that, after the Vision Pro, a more mainstream form of smart glasses could become Apple’s next hardware strategy.

The possibility of entering the security camera and doorbell market has also been mentioned. Apple currently links with various smart home devices through HomeKit, but expectations are that launching its own hardware could further accelerate the expansion of its smart home ecosystem.

Brownlee pointed to software as well as hardware. He stressed that above all he wants a "properly done Siri." As competition in generative AI ramps up, Apple is also pushing a major overhaul of its voice assistant, but in the market there are many assessments that the pace of improvements to Siri is slower than competitors. As a result, future Siri upgrades are seen as a factor that will affect Apple’s overall user experience as much as the launch of new devices.

Cellular support for the MacBook is also an item drawing attention. Mobile network connections are currently available on the iPad and iPhone, but the MacBook relies on Wi-Fi or smartphone tethering. Observers say that if Apple’s in-house modem technology matures, the possibility of a cellular MacBook cannot be ruled out.

The list is meaningful in that it does more than enumerate product ideas and shows areas Apple has yet to enter. That is because it broadly includes everything from long-empty markets such as in-car dashcams and printers to future growth areas such as smart glasses and smart home devices.

The industry is focusing on the possibility that Apple may expand beyond its existing ecosystem built around the iPhone, Mac, iPad and Apple Watch into smart home and wearable devices and AI-focused services. The list Brownlee presented is also seen as ultimately touching on the question of how far Apple can expand its ecosystem.
