The Ministry of Science and ICT’s Korea Post Service said on Wednesday it will issue 480,000 commemorative stamps on June 10 to mark the 100th anniversary of the June 10 Independence Movement.

The June 10 Independence Movement was an anti-Japanese independence movement that began on June 10, 1926, on the day of the state funeral procession for Sunjong. The commemorative stamps symbolically depict the desire for Korea’s independence and historical scenes. They feature a fluttering Taegeukgi, a newspaper article from the time, crowds who took part in the movement and a monument, recording both a sense of place and the meaning of commemoration.

The Korea Post Service said, "We hope the historical significance of the June 10 Independence Movement, in which people united solely toward the goal of independence, will be remembered for a long time through these commemorative stamps."

The commemorative stamps can be purchased at a nearby main post office or through the online post office.
