Tmap Mobility said on Wednesday it has launched a service called "Movement Log" that lets users record and review everyday travel and visits.
"Movement Log" is a service that manages travel records such as driving and place check-ins. Users can view places they visited and their travel flow in map and timeline formats, building data like a personal travel diary.
Records are saved automatically after a user completes a drive or walking trip using Tmap navigation. Users can leave more detailed location records by checking in at a desired place. They can also add entries by selecting a date even after the visit, or delete records they do not want. Only the user can view the records.
It also offers "Movement Log Insights" to help users intuitively understand their living radius and travel style. It analyses recent travel frequency, frequently visited places, newly visited spaces and main visit categories to help users review their lifestyle, such as weekday movement around the office and weekend travel destinations.
The company also added a feature that assigns a "Check-in Label" when users click a check-in icon at an actual visited location. This allows users to manage places they personally visited rather than ads or search history. The service can be found in the app under MY, saved places and the post-drive screen.
Jeon Chang-geun (전창근), Tmap Mobility's chief product officer, said: "Movement Log is a service that goes beyond recording users' movement data to help them discover and manage their own travel experiences and preferences." He added: "We plan to continue strengthening user experience and content reliability by using real mobility-based data."
