MacBook Neo was the best-selling of Apple’s new notebooks during the first 3 weeks after launch, data showed. IT outlet 9to5Mac reported on June 2 that IDC’s first-quarter 2026 sales tracking data showed 1.1 million units for MacBook Neo, 900,000 for the M5 MacBook Air and 550,000 for the M5 Pro and Max MacBook Pro.

All models in the comparison are new versions that began sales on March 11. Based on the period immediately after launch, MacBook Neo led the M5 MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro.

The results change when the comparison is expanded to the full MacBook Air lineup. If existing MacBook Air sales are included, the MacBook Air was likely still Apple’s best-selling notebook not only over the first 3 weeks after launch but also for the full first quarter.

Attention is shifting to the current quarter from April to June. A forecast said MacBook Neo shipments could rise sharply this quarter if Apple eases supply constraints and expands sales regions.

If that forecast materialises, MacBook Neo could become the top-selling product across Apple’s entire Mac lineup, beyond just new models.
