Gu Hyeok-chae (구혁채), first vice minister at South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT, met Vu Ho in Seoul on Tuesday. Vu Ho is Vietnam's ambassador to South Korea.
Gu and Vu discussed ways to promote mutually beneficial and future-oriented science and technology cooperation between the two countries. The two sides unveiled a Korea-Vietnam science, technology and innovation cooperation masterplan during Vietnam's state visit in April.
Gu and Vu explored forming a joint working group on science and technology cooperation to swiftly implement the masterplan. They also looked at ways to link cooperation with the Korea-Vietnam Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST), which was established through bilateral cooperation, and to expand personnel exchanges.
Gu said he hopes science and technology cooperation will make another leap forward through continued communication between the two countries. He asked for Vietnam government's continued interest and support.
