NCSoft is teaming up with Tencent Games to begin full-scale service in China for its flagship massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG).
NCSoft said on Thursday that Lineage2M will start service in China on June 24 through Tencent Games.
Lineage2M's China title has been confirmed as "Tiantang 2: Mengyue" (天堂2: 盟约). Tencent Games, which is in charge of local service, announced the China service schedule on its official website and plans to support cross-play between mobile and PC platforms.
NCSoft and Tencent Games held a closed beta test involving about 50,000 people ahead of the official launch. They are focusing on localisation efforts, including revamping user experience and environment (UX/UI) convenience, improving party dungeons and adding "social appearance" features to decorate character profiles, reflecting user feedback confirmed in the test. Pre-registrations currently top 4.95 million.
Various promotions for local users will be held until the official launch of Lineage2M. Participatory events will include the offline pop-up "Aden Throne Parade" and "Return of the Lord," in which users take TikTok photos and share them. A special launch video, "Memories of the Pledge," will also be released in stages.
