KT Skylife appointed Yong Ji (지정용), former CEO of KTcs, as its new chief executive.

On Tuesday, KT Skylife held a shareholders meeting and a board meeting and approved the appointment of Ji as its new CEO. The company said Ji is a professional manager who built telecommunications technology and field sales experience as a leader in KT’s network division and regional headquarters and has served as an affiliate CEO.

At the shareholders meeting, proposals also passed as submitted to appoint Se-joon Choi (최세준), head of the Strategy Headquarters at KT’s Customer Division, and Hyun-gu Kang (강현구), group synergy lead at KT’s Corporate Strategy Office, as other non-executive directors. The company said this would secure expertise in media and telecommunications businesses and strengthen group synergy.

KT Skylife earlier posted first-quarter consolidated revenue of 238.97 billion won and operating profit of 5.94 billion won. Revenue fell 1.6 percent from a year earlier, while operating profit rose 16.2 percent. Under Ji’s leadership, KT Skylife plans to secure new growth engines by settling its ipit TV service and expanding its AI sports broadcast solution, "Pochak."
