E-Mart said on Tuesday that Shinsegae Group Chairman Chung Yong-jin has begun his first on-site management of the new year.
On Jan. 6, Chung visited the Starfield Market Jukjeon store at around 6 p.m., during commuting hours. He toured the store overall, from the grocery section on basement level 1 to tenant shops on the first and second floors.
During the visit, Chung defined this year as “a year of growing again.” He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthen field-focused management to create the shopping space customers trust most.
The E-Mart Jukjeon store that Chung visited was remodeled in August 2024 into a “Starfield-style model.” In 2025, sales rose 28 percent from a year earlier and visitor numbers increased 22 percent.
“The fastest and rightest answer is on the ground where customers are,” Chung said. “I will refine the overwhelming No. 1 strategy more precisely in the field.”
