Kakao Pay has been selected for the 2025 Korea Work-Life Balance Outstanding Company programme run by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

The programme recognises companies with strong results in flexible work, reduced working hours, leave use and balancing work and childcare. Selected companies receive exemptions from regular labour inspections and preferential treatment in financial and government support programmes. Kakao Pay pursues innovation in its working methods to raise both work focus and quality of life.

It has introduced a fully flexible work system that lets employees design work hours that maximise focus and productivity. The company designates the last Friday of every month as a companywide holiday called Refresh Day to provide regular breaks. Employees who complete three years of service receive 30 days of paid sabbatical leave and 2,000,000 won in vacation support.

Family‑friendly support tailored to life stages is also in place. The company offers leave for spouses’ prenatal check-ups, adoption leave, childcare leave of up to two years and reduced working hours during school admissions.

A Kakao Pay official said the company believes financial services that users can rely on come from a corporate culture where employees can work with peace of mind. The official said the company will enhance both work-life balance and corporate sustainability through flexible work systems supported by autonomy and responsibility.
