Fasoo AI said on May 20 it launched an updated version of its data identification and classification solution, Fasoo Data Radar (FDR), to support public agencies’ transition to the national network security framework (N2SF).

N2SF is a new security framework that replaces the existing public-sector network separation policy to enable the safe use of new technologies such as AI and cloud. It classifies data into confidential (C), sensitive (S) and open (O) grades and applies differentiated security measures, making data identification and classification a requirement. Fasoo AI has participated in several N2SF pilot projects based on FDR to verify data identification and classification methods.

The update adds an optical character recognition (OCR) feature. It extracts text from general image files or embedded images in documents and checks whether they contain sensitive information. It can also identify sensitive information in scanned or captured images that could not be detected through existing text-based checks.

It also continuously displays C, S and O classification labels on screen during document work such as in Hangul, MS Office and PDF to raise user awareness.

An AI-based contextual masking feature was also added. Through integration with Fasoo AI’s personal information protection solution, AI-R Privacy, FDR detects and masks sensitive information by understanding context even in complex text. It applies natural language processing (NLP) and deep learning technologies to detect various types of personal information.

Ko Dong-hyun (고동현), an executive director at Fasoo AI, said, "Since N2SF starts with grade classification, we will support public agencies’ adoption of N2SF through FDR." He added, "We will also continue to strengthen the N2SF portfolio, including the data security solutions Fasoo Enterprise DRM and AI DLP."
