Hana Financial Group is moving to strengthen inclusive activities linking healthcare and finance by visiting areas with a lack of medical infrastructure.
Hana Financial said on May 19 it carried out a “free mobile eye checkup” programme on May 18 at a senior welfare centre in Chungnam to address blind spots in medical care.
The programme was set up to support older people who have limited access to ophthalmology services and find it difficult to travel, making it hard for them to receive appropriate treatment. Hana Financial plans a total of 20 sessions in which medical specialists will check seniors’ eye health.
At the site, specialist examinations and consultations are provided to help detect eye diseases early. These include vision tests, intraocular pressure tests, refraction tests and slit-lamp microscope exams.
Based on the results, the programme also supports links to nearby medical institutions. It will provide all participating seniors with magnifying glasses matched to their vision and eye drops free of charge.
Hana Financial is also running on-site financial counselling services. It plans to support tailored financial advice and education to prevent voice phishing as part of efforts to practise inclusive finance closely tied to daily life.
A Hana Financial official said, "We will continue to identify areas where local communities need practical help and fulfil finance’s social responsibility."
