Humax Mobility is pursuing an autonomous-driving robotaxi business with FutureLink and Conatus. The three companies will cooperate from technology development to business operations and infrastructure construction, targeting 2027 commercialisation of Level 4 fully autonomous driving. Humax Mobility said on Monday it signed a memorandum of understanding covering the plan.

The core of the cooperation is the convergence of mobility infrastructure and autonomous-driving technology. Humax Mobility's nationwide network of more than 1,300 parking lots and 3,300 electric vehicle charging stations will be used as robotaxi charging and maintenance bases. The strategy is to build an integrated mobility ecosystem by adding FutureLink's autonomous-driving capabilities and Conatus' taxi operations know-how.

The three companies will expand robotaxi services step by step to major cities nationwide. They will jointly 추진 robotaxi projects for local governments and public institutions and link autonomous-driving technology with a taxi-hailing platform. They will also work on optimising dispatch systems and algorithms, jointly using parking and charging infrastructure, linking maintenance networks and vehicle management systems, and developing and jointly proposing new businesses.

Humax Mobility operates mobility services under its 'Turu' brand, including Turu Parking, Turu Charger and Turu Car. It plans to use its AI-based Mobility Hub Platform and Ai-PAS technology to support real-time vehicle management for robotaxis and optimise charging infrastructure.

FutureLink has completed more than 40,000 km of accident-free demonstration driving in Seoul's Gangnam area using vehicles equipped with Pony.ai's autonomous-driving development kit. Based on Level 4 fully autonomous driving technology, it operates robotaxi services and plans to expand to major metropolitan areas including Seoul, Gyeonggi and Busan. Conatus will be responsible for operating strategy in the commercialisation process, using its own taxi platform and know-how from operating Turu Taxi.

Humax Mobility CEO Jung Sung-min said it has built an integrated ecosystem to prepare for the autonomous-driving era through nationwide mobility infrastructure and AI-based operating technology. He said the cooperation will bring forward domestic commercialisation of autonomous robotaxis and lead innovation in the mobility industry.

FutureLink CEO Cha Doo-won said it will lead the domestic robotaxi market based on autonomous-driving technology proven through demonstrations and experience in cooperating with the government and local governments. He said the three-way cooperation aims to secure both technology and business viability and also targets expansion into global markets.
