Azicland entered a visible range of a return to profitability after posting its highest-ever quarterly revenue on a surge in AI and memory demand. Azicland said on May 15 it recorded first-quarter 2026 consolidated revenue of 54.0 billion won and an operating loss of 2.9 billion won.

Revenue surged 242 percent from 15.7 billion won a year earlier, marking its highest quarterly revenue since its founding. The operating loss narrowed by nearly 7.0 billion won from the previous quarter. The operating margin improved by about 45 percentage points from a year earlier, moving closer to the break-even point (BEP).

The strong results were driven by benefits from expanded investment in AI infrastructure. With data center demand swelling, orders for high-performance memory and storage controller design concentrated, and volume flowed to Azicland, which holds design references in the field.

AI and memory projects accounted for 72 percent of total first-quarter revenue. The company said it was the result of a higher share of high value-added advanced-node projects requiring sub-7-nanometer processes.

Given the nature of ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit) design, projects currently under way have a structure in which revenue and profit expand together after they switch to mass production. An increase in development revenue serves as a leading indicator of future growth in mass production revenue.

Tangible results also emerged in global markets. First-quarter overseas revenue came to 10.6 billion won, marking a record vertical rise from a year earlier. The result directly reflected performance from serving global customers using the Taiwan R&D center as a hub.

It is also expanding cooperation with major global partners in next-generation packaging solutions such as Chiplet and CoWoS, a chip-stacking packaging technology. The company said it plans to pursue a leap into a top-tier global ASIC company based on this.

Chief Executive Jong-min Lee (이종민) said, "The first-quarter results reflect both the expansion of AI and memory-centered projects and cooperation with global customers." He added, "We plan to continue expanding the scope of our response to global customers, focusing on expanding mass production of memory controllers and projects based on advanced processes."
