Naver is linking external customer management solutions to SmartPlace as it moves to support offline business owners in securing repeat customers and running marketing.
Naver said on May 14 it introduced a membership integration feature that allows Place business owners to use customer relationship management (CRM) services DodoPoint, Payhere and Okpos through the SmartPlace system.
Previously, coupons, discounts and points for visitors had to be managed through separate CRM solutions. The new integration allows benefits to be offered more easily on Naver Place and Maps. Membership benefit status is displayed on store pages, making it easier to attract new customers. Dedicated coupon issuance also makes it easier to manage repeat customers.
Users can also receive membership-linked coupons immediately during store searches or reservations and easily check benefits. Naver said 1 in 4 users who downloaded dedicated coupons from Place store pages used them for actual on-site payments.
Naver is expanding integration not only with CRM services but also with membership management systems operated by franchise brands. It plans to continue expanding partner companies, starting with an integration with Isaac Toast in February.
It will also upgrade connectivity between Place membership and Naver Pay (Npay) Connect terminals within the year. Npay Connect's strength is usability linked to Place solutions beyond simple payment functions. Naver plans to add membership sign-ups and stamp coupon application later to the payment, ordering and review-writing functions currently provided.
Lee Se-hoon (이세훈), business planning leader for Naver Place, said, "We introduced a membership integration service so that Place business owners can expand new customers within the Naver system and steadily manage repeat customers." He added, "In line with the trend of expanding Npay Connect terminals, we plan to support business owners' effective store operations by promoting links with various solutions such as orders, reservations, reviews and membership."
