Hancom Lifecare, a Hancom Group affiliate specialising in firefighting, defence and safety equipment, said on Tuesday it held a ceremony at its headquarters in Yongin, Gyeonggi province, to declare the adoption of a fair trade Compliance Program, or CP.

A CP is an internal compliance system that a company establishes and operates on its own to comply with fair trade-related laws and regulations. It aims to present clear standards of conduct to employees to prevent potential legal violations in advance and supervise compliance.

Through the adoption, Hancom Lifecare plans to establish specific procedures and standards to entrench fair trade. It also plans to build a systematic education and monitoring system.

At the ceremony, CEO Kim Sun-young and other key executives and employees attended and reinforced their commitment by reading out a pledge to put it into practice. Hancom Lifecare said it will use the CP adoption to spread a sound fair trade culture and rapidly embed a sense of ethical responsibility among all employees.

Kim said, "For sustainable growth, adopting a CP is not an option but a necessity." She said the company will go beyond simple legal compliance and win customer trust and further strengthen corporate competitiveness by practising transparent and responsible management.
